This ensures that URIs beginning "ymsgr:" can open a new Yahoo Messenger window with specified parameters. This functions similarly like the mail to: URI scheme.
Offline messaging: Offline messaging is an important feature offered by Yahoo Messemger. If you does not find your friend online, then Yahoo grants its users to send messages to their contacts. The receiver will get the message as soon as he next comes online.
Games: There are various games and applications available on Yahoo Messemger. These games are available through the conversation window by clicking the games icon and disputing your present contacts.
Ability to interact with Windows Live Messenger: Interpenetration between Yahoo and Windows Live Messenger was launched July 2006. This ensures the users of both Yahoo and Windows Live Messenger to chat to each other without creating an account on the other service. But one thing that must be checked is that both the contacts use the latest versions of the clients.
